Adjusting hood
Going crazy trying to adjust my hood. Raised the hood to get the hinges down in the back. Rear of hood is ok, front of hood has a huge gap. Adjusted the pin that goes into the hood latch, still have a huge gap. Adjusted hinges so the front of the hood is cool, now the rear is up. I think my hinges are OK, because everything was fine until I swapped my fenders. Anybody have any tips?

Re: Adjusting hood
I need help with mine too. I still cant get it all the way down in the back. This is after I loosened it and my buddy pushed up on the hood hard as I retightened. It;s better than when I started but now I;m having problems getting it square. The seams on the sides look good and straight but the gap to cowl is off. Like 1/4 on one side,1/2" on other. If I make cowl seam look good, then the hood-fender seam isnt square. I have new springs and hinges installed.

Re: Adjusting hood
Sounds like everyone is experiencing bad hinge problems. Lift your hood and pull the nose of it left and right while looking at your hinges. If the rivettes move, the hinges are dust in the wind. Bad hinges cause all kinds of troubles. Inconsistant hood allignment, hood up in the back, bad gaps, and you will fight it for days and never solve your problem. Another thing, if you have replaced your hinges, then be sure that you used Genuine GM. They are the heaviest and and strongest.
If you have new GM hinges installed and you still are having problems with side to side gaps, then you may have to take loose your radiator core support and move the entire clip right or left to correct the gap. WES
