new shortbed today!!
I've been looking all year for the right Short bed to transfer everything from my 72 Highlander longed onto. Finally found one within my price range and towed it home. It's a straight 6, 3 on the tree 1969 shortbed with a Special paint color (light canary I think). Another cool thing is it has the shoulder belts.
I'll be stripping it down to the frame, and then transfering everything from my longed onto this frame and bed. Should be fun! Here's some pics of the two that will become my dream truck. (shortbed big block with AC and cruise control). the last one is of the big block highlander. |

Re: new shortbed today!!
And some more pics. The last two are of the Highlander again. You may notice I just became a site supporter!!
Clearly I'll be needing to part out the extras. But for now I'm just stoked as I've seriously been dreaming of burning serious big block short bed rubber for a while, and shortbeds are hard to come by in CA for under $500 (tax return was all I had). So can shoulder belts be transferred to any cab? And is this a stock color on our trucks? It says special paint on the spid. |

Re: new shortbed today!!
If you get rid of the shoulder belts I'd be interested.

Re: new shortbed today!!
Two Questions for you
Where in California do you live? What are going to do with the inline 6?

Re: new shortbed today!!
1972 Ryan- Yes I'm interested in selling off everything on the shortbed truck, including the shoulder belts. The only thing I need is the frame and the bed itself. But I did want to know if you can add shoulder belts to any cab??
Lemon Drop- I'm in Roseville near Sacramento, and the inline 6 and everything attached to it must go. And the same goes with the frame, bed, rear end, and driveline from the longbed. And I've seen your build thread- Wow. But theoretically someone could make up a slightly rusty longbed inline 6 truck for next to nothing. Both trucks are very complete right now, so the leftovers are up for grabs. Today everything except for the frame and the bed itself are going on Craigslist. The sooner I get the frame stripped the better for me. But am I supposed to ask to move this thread to the for sale forum? I'm new to the rules on these issues. Thanks in advance... |
