1 Step forward 2 Steps back!!!!!!!!
Well I have had my pick-up for a few months now and done some little things. I just finished a tune-up with new plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap,and rotor. My machine was running like a champ instead of running on 5 or 6 cylinders it was firing on all 8! I decided to take the "green machine" as my children call it to run some errands. During my last errand I was pulling into the parking lot and as I was driving down the isle this gal plows her car right into the passenger side of my pick-up. I calmly got out to exchange information and found out she doesn't have insurance and she is moving away across the country next week for a new job. She says she will pay but I'll see how that turns out. As for now I get to drive around in my beautiful truck with "three" new dents: a creased and folded rocker panel right beneath the seam of my newly dented bottom front corner of my passenger door and bottom rear edge of my passenger side front fender.

It's too bad you couldn't grab her by the neck and shake her like a rug.
*Disclaimer: What I'd do in that position is call the police and have them involved, despite what I'd really like to do!

Sorry to hear about that! At least it sounds fixable. It could be much worse. Below are the pics of the fate of a few board member's trucks over the last few months! These pics are hard to look at

Thanks for showing me I am really on the brighter side of things. Unfortunately the FPD will not respond to non-injury accidents for report generation. This was on private property (parking lot) as well. I did not work the un-insured driver angle and that may have been my ticket (no pun intended) to getting her a ticket.

I have come to find out that these days everyone has a hard luck story or they have a brother or friend that owns a body shop. Forty ot fifty years ago you could believe them. I as you did want to be kind hearted and cut them a break, but she probably drove away laughing. I always call the police and then give them the opprotunity to pay out of their pocket later. At least you would have a police report. Sorry for your loss.

Re: 1 Step forward 2 Steps back!!!!!!!!
Just got a phone call today from the perpetrator. She said she was sorry she didn't return my call earlier in the week but she is somewhat settled into her new job in Philly and was willing to pay the amount of the estimate for the repairs. WOO HOOO!!!! I'll really be happy when the money is in hand!
