What Size Drop???????

How far can you drop the rearend of a 69' C10 before having to c-notch the frame? I was thinking about 2 1/2" drop spindles and 1" drop coils up front, then in the back 4" drop coils and 1" or 2" blocks in the back. Does this seem okay to do or even make sense?

Re: What Size Drop???????

You won't get that much of a drop without a c-notch in the rear. Maybe just the 4" spring, unless you want to hammer the rearend off the frame rails.

Re: What Size Drop???????

Let me ask this............I want to get a 6" drop out back, what else do I need to use with the 4" coils? And can I do this without a c-notch out back? I am trying to get a rake stance.

Re: What Size Drop???????

Are you totally against doing a c-notch?
My 'burb has a little over 6" of drop on the rear and 4.5" in the front, but I have a CPP bolt-in c-notch. Prior to putting in the notch, the rear suspension travel was nearly non-existant.
You can do a block with the spring, but I don't think I would do that much drop without a c-notch, to achieve the stance you want.

Re: What Size Drop???????

Half the people say they didn't need a notch w/a 6" drop, the other half will say they needed one. If you do some searching, you will see that there has been a lot of discussion about this exact subject.

4" coils and 2" blocks will work, or you could just buy 6" coils. that won't give you much of a rake w/2.5" spindles and 1" coils up front. Stance
