Aftermarket AC
I've been thinking about adding A/C to my truck... I looked at the kit from Vintage Air, but have a few questions for you guys out there that have it.
Right now, I have nothing as far as the stock system. I have no controls, no heater box, and no vents. My firewall is shaved smooth. I intend to keep it this way. Will the direct fit vintage air kit work for me in this application, or do I need to get a more universal stand alone kit to make this work? Does anybody have underhood shots of an installed vintage air kit? |

Re: Aftermarket AC
Yeah, the "Sure Fit" isn’t for you. The Gen-II 68000 is probably more of what you need.
Their Gen II systems allow you to pick your control panel and other options like vents and other little goodies. Give them a call. They were really helpful when I was shopping for my system.

Re: Aftermarket AC
I'm in the need to replace an AC that has been taken out. I just looked at the Sure Fit and prices. They price a kit for 16-1800, is that for everything you need?

Re: Aftermarket AC
Hey boatpuller, Are you still using the stock power steering bracket pump and brackets ? I was looking at getting the same setup.

Re: Aftermarket AC
nope...............grove hooked me up there too.of all the companies iv'e dealt with in my build, they have the most knowledgeable phone help of anybody.you talk to long time employees that know what their selling.their brackets are awesome and you can paint them your color's.vintage air can supply you with brackets.but,i ended up getting the wrong ones from them twice.and found out they get them from alan grove anyway.so,i cut out the middle man.called grove and finally got it right.messing around with brackets can be a nightmare it's nice to find someone who know's their stuff.
