I lowered my Sierra Grande over the Weekend! Pics Inside!

Like the title says, I lowered my '71 Sierra Grande on saturday nite. Started at 8:00 p.m. and finished it at 4:00 a.m. on Mothers Day with the help of my little bro. We lowered at his workplace they were kind enough to let him have the keys to the place. And the rest is history...enjoy.

Wow... what a difference! Love the stance!

What drop kit did you use? And, what's the amount of drop front/rear?

Re: I lowered my Sierra Grande over the Weekend! Pics Inside!

Hey thanks Houp, I didn't have a choice my 15-inch stockers hit the lower control arms. So I did the next best thing, I took them off my '69 C-10 and switched them. Here's some pics of them on the '69. They are 17x8 all around.

Re: I lowered my Sierra Grande over the Weekend! Pics Inside!

72BlckButy, I used a Belltech kit. 3-inch drop spindles with 2-inch drop springs on the front. 5-inch drop springs on the rear All for a total of a 5-inch drop all around.

It's amazing what new shoes and an altitude adjustment do for the attitude of these trucks. Lookin real nice!

Wow, that thing looks slick! Nice work. I think every year the GMCs grow on me more and more. Both of your trucks are beautiful, congrats!

Re: I lowered my Sierra Grande over the Weekend! Pics Inside!

Thanks everyone for the great compliments!! I agree with you Special-K the slots look better on the white truck. I went ahead and put the rallies back on it for now until I decide what wheels to put back on. Or I can put the slots back on the white one and pick out a different set for the "Grande".

Did you put a adjustable pan hard bar in the rear to correct for the 5 inch drop? Shocks relocate? Can you notice any handling differences?

New wheels and drop make it look like a totally different truck. A whole new attitude.

Re: I lowered my Sierra Grande over the Weekend! Pics Inside!

Thanks again everyone for the awesome compliments!!! I really appreciate it alot, positive feedback makes me jus want to keep working on it some more so that I can show-off what a little elbow grease can do. What does everyone think of 20inch Torque Thrusts? I know that they are somewhat played-out on the trucks or on anything for that matter but just look so bad-a$$ on these trucks. Truckmanloco you have a great looking "Grande" also, I haven't seen that many around here or anywhere for that matter. Thanks Again everyone. Here's some more pics, enjoy.
