Clutch linkage

The clutch pedal wont disengage the clutch on my 1984 4x4.
Went underneath and the clutch fork seems to be really loose. Should there be any play at all in the fork?

Re: Clutch linkage

There should be just a little bit of slack. You don't want the throwout bearing riding on the pressure plate fingers. Usually the your slack deminishes as the clutch wears. You might have broken something, like the fingers off the pressure plate.
