72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
I need your opinion on what this truck is worth before it gets away. It is the first documented swb 4x4 cheyenne super I've ever seen. I don't know if they are rare or not. It's a nice mostly original truck with almost every option, including the original am/fm radio in the console. Check out the pics and let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
I personally, would try to get it for under 10-12k if i could, because of the rust issues, (and it would be a much sweeter deal if you could get it for 7500 or so, who knows) --- 4wd doesn't really add anything to the value of these though
but its definitely a rare truck if its legit 2wd or 4wd -- tach, buckets, tilt, AC

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
^I agree, but 10-12 would be a little high in my opinion. Nice find though. How much are they asking?

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
I`d say around $7,000 +/- $1,000.$8,000 is good money for something that isn`t restored. It would be great to restore being close to original and all there.
The original am/fm still in console???I thought you meant dash, but I see something else there. Is the original radio sitting inside the console?

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
I paid $7500.00 for mine. Everything was there except the original motor. Somewhere in that ballpark would be a good price from what I see in the pics.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
The original am/fm radio is setting in the console just waiting to be put back in. Unfortunately this guy thinks he's setting on his retirement or something and won't even get reasonable on the price. I think he's a board member so I won't go into too much detail, he might try to sell it here.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
I agree with everyone else....about 7500 or so. That's what I paid for my 72 Super, and it WAS pretty close to the condition this one is in. If the price is unreasonable, then it isn't going anywhere, especially in this economy.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
The price he is wanting is in the $15,000 range. I thought he was crazy, but I wanted to ask those who knew. Here is a pic of the SPID.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
The SPID does show that it is a Cheyenne (not a Super), but many of the options were added (A/C, tach, buckets, etc.). If this was originally equipped as shown, I think it would be worth $10k - $12k.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
FUnny how I can respond to a thread but not start one.
I have some door panels to get rid of and I can't post in WIW. Be sure to check out the body mount rubber and hardware. PAIN to change out. I think $7K - $8k is reasonable. You may be getting an oldie but you just can't find STYLE like these old Chevys anymore. |

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
and thats not a real super, and like everyone said not originally equipped with buckets, tilt, tach or the AM/FM... and the seat covers like those were never used from the factory, there hounds tooth and that was only used on cars i believe. its been redone by the looks of it.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4X4
since it's a "built" super not an original and the options are "added", i'd say 7-8K would be a fair price. if it was a documented super with all those options from the factory i think it would be worth more. my super has all those options and a lot more, mine is a real super but most of the options were added by me. of all the trucks i've owned (over 200) and looked at over the past 20+ years, only two were documented "supers" with tilt, tach, am/fm, buckets,a-c, p-s, p-b. one was a black on black short stepside 2wd and the other was a short stepside 4x4. i could have bought the 2wd for $6500 at one time and didn't do it

My buddy sold his K-20 Cheyenne Super with same paint, all original w/ 35K miles for $14K on Ebay. Wish I had bought it now....
