Re: Side Mirrors

I believe to be so. Similar to & may well be the same that were on the same years of the chevelle & some Nova's.

Re: Side Mirrors

If you can be satisfied with the looks go for it. Some of the repop stuff w/ mirrors there was some issues with them not being plated to last long so buy from a vendor that knows what he's selling. Otherwise U may not be happy a yr from now.

Re: Side Mirrors

If you are going for correct, your '70 would have had this style most likely unless it got jr west caost mirrors. They came painted, but most of the venders sell them in chrome also.

Re: Side Mirrors

Sports mirrors like ur example, 2-types of tripod mirrors, and the type shown above in the post that I know of. The west coast type I believe were on older 67-68's. And GMC chevy were the same.

Re: Side Mirrors

The tripods were a 2nd generation improvement over the west coast mirror. The west coast folks complained about them causing dead spots in view. The single mount round mirror were the cheaper mirror and most common available in both a white painted or body painted and more rare all chrome which may actually be a repop improvement. Few complained about them shaking around as they are only mounted from the one stem. But that maybe caused by a worn joint & vibration from travel over ruff roads. The sports type mirror was more common on trucks used in a car type urban enviroment common on the west coast. Tripod mirrors with those pulling campers & trailers. And the single mount round mirror around farms.

Re: Side Mirrors

Yes, those are the 71/72 sport mirrors...I have them on my truck and wouldn't trade them for anything.
