Beware Of A Scam If You Are Selling A Truck
I RECEIVED AN EMAIL YESTERDAY ABOUT MY 1970 CHEVY TRUCK I HAVE FOR SALE ON THIS SITE. THE EMAIL WAS SENT FROM MCDONNA2345@HOTMAIL.COM. THIS PERSON CLAIMS TO BE A DONNA MURPHY. THE EMAIL WAS FULL OF SPELLING ERRORS AND THE IMPROPER USE OF WORDS. IT ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRUCK. I RESPONDED BACK WITH THE ANSWERS. I THEN RECEIVED ANOTHER EMAIL STATING TO CONSIDER IT SOLD THAT SHE WOULD SEND ME A MONEY ORDER INCLUDING THE PRICE FOR A PRIVATE SHIPPING COMPANY. WHEN I RECEIVED THE CHECK I WAS SUPPOSE TO WIRE THE PRIVATE SHIPPING COMPANY THE MONEY BACK. THIS IS A SCAM. I SENT AN EMAIL BACK TELLING THEM THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE A SCAM THAT THEY WOULD SEND ME A FAKE MONEY ORDER I WOULD THEN SEND THEM BACK THE SHIPPING MONEY NOT A PRIVATE SHIPPING COMPANY. IT WOULD LATER BE DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A FAKE MONEY ORDER AND I WOULD BE OUT THE MONEY I WIRED TO THEM. I ASKED IF THEY THOUGHT I WAS THAT CRAZZY TO FALL FOR THIS SCAM. I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM. I ALSO INCLUDED A FEW CHOICE WORDS FOR THEM. THIS IS A SCAM. PLEASE LET OTHER MEMBERS KNOW ABOUT THIS. THANKS

Re: Beware Of A Scam If You Are Selling A Truck
definately a scam. The money order will be fake. You'll send them the money for the shipping and they'll walk away with that money. The bank will determine the money order to be fake and withdraw the money from your account leaving you short the amount you sent to the fake transportation company for shipping.

I have our fifth wheel for sale right now and the same thing happened to me. This guy said he was from Petrie auto and his name was Sam Petrie. It was set up exactly the same way as yours though, right down to the pour grammar and spelling. Definitely a scam.

Re: Beware Of A Scam If You Are Selling A Truck
this is a scam that has been around forever. Just so ya know it is nothing to do with this site or anywhere else when you have an email listed on any classified area (craigslist, ebay, here, the paper etc) scammers will contact you. Just delete the emails and ignore anything that is not normal.
