So close to being ready...
I was hoping to have my Blazer back on the road this week but it isn't quite running right. But since it is at that 80% complete stage and everything to make it street legal is back on I did get to take it out for a bit. Now I have to wait until sometime in June to get it back on the road.
I just can't wait to have it on the road full time! |

Great looking K5. What is left to be done?

Re: So close to being ready...
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that some wiring probably needs to be addressed.

Re: So close to being ready...
Long term there is still quite a bit of wiring.
Short term I need to get the rear brakes bleed correctly. I don't think they are bleeding correctly because of the way they are mounted. Plus I have a little work to do on the cables to get the e-brake fully functioning. But I haven't been able to get it to run quite right on the carburator and points distrubitor. Instead of messing with this any more though I am going to put on the FI unit and get it running that way. Longer term the list is fairly long. Cross over steering, front locker, wiring, carpet, side panels, stero, etc. |

Re: So close to being ready...
Looks like a lot of cool mods nicely thought out, great work.
1st thing I'd loose would be the points dizzy, go HEI ASAP. Why go cross over with your current lift and tire size? Throw out some more details of your build, sounds interesting. |

Why a front locker, do you plan on really taking it off road?

Re: So close to being ready...
Yes I only have the points still because the fuel injection conversion includes a dual sync distrubitor; and I don't think I can run that with out the whole conversion being done. So that is next on the list and I hope it fixes my issues.
It will see some off road use and I really hate it when I get stuck so this will be the first vehicle I try lockers in. I am not likeing the one in the rear so far; at least I think that is what I don't like. On acceleration from a stop the body seems to twist and then back when you take your foot back off the gas. I didn't notice that before so I am not sure what is going on. |
