Trucks with Nissan Diesel Engines

My buddy has a 1977 K10 stepside with a very unique engine. It has a Nissan Diesel engine. I'm pretty sure it's the common sm465 transmission as well. Very unique truck and the previous owner said it was dealer installed back in the 70's. I touched on this about a year ago when he bought the truck but no one seemed to respond. He will be selling it and I was even considering making an offer but I think he wants a good penny and the body is rough. I would like to take pics when I get a chance. The truck is lifted with tall but narrow super swampers, and has a single exhaust stack. For a small inline diesel, it has some good torque and mileage. Cool play around truck but I can't find any information about these Nissan diesel engines being installed on these trucks! Can anyone relate?

Re: Trucks with Nissan Diesel Engines

Nissan diesels are common swaps. I've seen plenty of Nissan diesels with 100000+ miles on them. Great little motors. With today's fuel prices, diesel is higher priced but MPG is better too.
