Re: how does the headlinner install ?

I just did mine a few months ago. Mine originally had one but it had come out with age so I had the holes in the roof of the cab for the mounting tabs for the trim so you may have to drill those out if they're not there already. To bond the headliner to the roof I used 3M Hi Strength 90 Spray Adhesive. I did it last fall as the temps had started to cool but we're back into 90+ degree days and, so far, it's held great. Not saying I chose the right adhesive (maybe there's better) but it's worked for me. Adhesive is all the factory used; I had to clean and scuff the old stuff to make sure I got a good bond. I think I applied at least 2 layers of adhesive (maybe 3) to the ceiling and a couple to the headliner before actually installing it. Helps to have the wife help hold it in place!

Good luck!

Re: how does the headlinner install ?

I used 3M double sided tape on the headliner and I also cut the mounting tabs off of the trim and used it on there too...(didnt want to cut holes in the roof..) Two years strong and it hasn't moved..

Hey C10addict,

What varity of 3M tape did you use? We use their 444 double sided tape at work with good results but, I don't know how well it would hold in cold weather. In hot weather I think it would work fine. We use it to hold ABS Plastic together and have run it through some temp extreams but nothing below freezing.

I've never had any luck with either of those products. I ended up just getting a tube of liquid nails and a caulking gun, and used the whole tube.

We (my wonderful wife and I) held it up and massaged any potential air bubbles out for about 10 minutes and by then it had set up enough to hold itself up. Your arms get tired after a few minutes! It was really pretty easy, though.

Re: how does the headlinner install ?

I used some headliner spray a 3M product (had a wide adj nozzle) cut a 2X4 from the seat to ceiling and a small piece of 1/4 plywood to protect & push to the roof.
