Heater Delete plate dimensions?

Does anyone have the dimensions for a heater delete plate? I know it is a little bigger than the radio delete plate. I am trying to figure out if one will work for me. tHanks!

I think he means the heater delete below the radio. Not the firewall delete.

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

sorry if I misunderstood. You may have to fab that one. I tried looking for one of those and no luck. I had nothing there. I went to a swap meet and found a really nice heater/non ac controller. My truck doesn't have factory air. Good Luck.

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

Thanks guys! 70 GMCer you are right. I'm looking for the heater delete plate below the radio. If I told you why I wanted it you would probably have me shot, so I won't explain... for now.

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

Shawn here is my heater delete.

I didn't even know they made one for the heater area. I don't have the exact dimensions, but your opening is about 1/2" wider than a DIN , and the height is the same. Thus why I did this.

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

That was my plan, however I wanted to use the delete plate to frame the radio, give it a more finished look. I was going to use an extra radio delete plate I have, but the trim on the radio hits the rolled edge of the delete plate. i wanted to see if the heater delete plate was taller than the radio so I could use that instead. I plan on using the Vintage Air controllers mounted to the radio delete up top in the radio area. I just didn't want to tell anyone I was considering cutting up a Heater and radio delete plate .

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

Shawn that is what I am doing. I'll be mounting the controls in the radio delete. I have not decided yet whether I will weld in the gab around the DIN, or make some sort of temp filler.

Here is a thread about same thing.

Orange sent me his template diagrams which are very useful

I thought I was going to do some of it this weekend, but I have another body/welding project now to get done.

Re: Heater Delete plate dimensions?

Not even close, the "clean" garage is no more. Parts are everywhere, including oil, and power steering fluid, and..........and............and.............and........and. HAHA. I finally had a chance to get my hands dirty, the font end is off and the engine is comming out so I can get to the suspension and frame. After the engine is out the bed is next then the cab. I am going to try and sand down as much of the frame as I can (unless you know of an easier way, i.e. cheap) to get to bare metal. I want that real smooth look, not that rusty pitted look. The frame itself will be all silver, and some of the other parts will be black. Take care
