I have a dilema, Need Help!!

I am redoing the tank, compressor, valves and air lines on my truck to make it better. The dilema is this, I can get the parts online for $22.55 cheaper than I can locally. My thinking is, if I get the parts locally and have an issue I can take the parts back = less down time & I won't have to wait as long to get the parts. I've been debating this since Sunday and can't make up my damn mind!!!

I can be cheap sometimes and this is one of those times..... and I'm thinking $22 bucks can get me a couple gallons of go juice.

Help me deceide.... post your thoughts and don't hold back!!!

Re: I have a dilema, Need Help!!

Well, does 22 cheaper include the local tax? What about shipping? At the end of the day 22.00 can help your local economy and you could have already had the work done by now. What is your time worth? You could have been taking more of your awesome photographs! Jsut giving you grief, but the 22 might be worth the knowledge that you are getting exactly what you need. and you could always ask for a discount when you get to the store. What can they say...no?

Re: I have a dilema, Need Help!!

I know, I could have that thing almost done. It might take a while to get it done, I need to address some "PO issues"... but atleast he's not married and doesn't have any kids to pass on the his "skills" to

So by, "giving me grief" your telling me my photos suck... j\k

I was going to print my shopping cart from the online retailer and take it with me and se if they would match it. If they don't, I'll smoke the tires as close to the door as I can, if I smoke all the customers out they'll need the business

So, I still feel like I'm chasing my tail.... Thanks for the help

Re: I have a dilema, Need Help!!

Personally, I generally prefer to deal with locals.
They're right here if I have a problem, and I can deal with folks face to face, problem, or not, which is big on my list.

Without getting deep into details, my son had a problem with a broken thingy, which was supposed to have a life time warranty. He took it to the local folks that had installed it (for the PO) and some guy blew him off. The kid was only 17.
He came home & we tore into the truck found the problem & took the defective part back. I told the counter person about his previous experience, and politely said, "We're just little folks, but we've lived in this town a long time. We're going to do our best to give you a "GOOD" reputation around town."
Before we got out the door, the shop owner stopped us & said to bring the truck in and they would take care of the problem.

Hard to do that via email and phone calls.

Just my .02

What happened to you is exactly why I want to deal locally, becasue things like that can't happen over the phone or internet, as you mentioned.

Thanks for the input El Jay, you always give great advice, I appreciate it!!

I also don't worry to much about $22.
I can blow off way more than that on any given Sat. night @ the local watering hole, just trying to sweet talk some lady into letting me have intimate, carnal knowledge.

$22, what does that get you these day's at the water'n holes, about 2 drinks?
I usually don't either, but I seem to be getting "frugal" in my old age....
