It this bad? Brake question
My GMC rolled off the line as a 2wd diesel and some previous owner made it a 4wd gas with a 7inch lift. The brakes are however still the 2wd tiny ones. I picked up the replacement 2wd calipers because the old ones where trashed but I was thinking I should ask the experts (you) on if I should think about up grading to the larger 4wd ones. Is this a huge deal to do? Or will I be fine with I have?
Remember: I'm not a real mechanic but more of a heavily tooled garage monkey.

It's not so much the four wheel dive but the size of the tires and/or the weight load you’re carrying. If when the other person jacked it up they also put much bigger then stock tires it could cause problems because bigger tires mean more leverage and the stock breaks are not built for that. Also if you over load your truck taking a load to the dump or something it could also be a problem. But 40 mph is 40 mph no matter which wheels are driving the car.

I haven't moved any heavy loads in it yet, But it dies have some good sized tires on it. So I really should be thinking about bigger calipers and rotors and....
What all do I need? Is this a huge job?

it depends on what you have on there.. id upgrade too but how about some pics so we can see what ya have on there?

Yeah, I'll try and snap some pictures when I put the 2wd calipers on.
