It's Home!!! and there is pictures!

Well after 8 hours of highway driving the beast is home. The truck ran amazing on the highway and in the city. the only down fall was the big steep hills with th 4 speed, cause until it dropped below 80km/h i couldnt shift down without fear of breaking somthing. But the trip was awesome, now she's home and I can finally freshen 'er up a bit.

Re: It's Home!!! and there is pictures!

Well its only got 87,000 KM on it so the driveline is like brand new and with a freshly rebuilt 350(only 35,000 on rebuilt motor), it runs amazing. it starts easier then my Dad's 2001 dodge ram, and is pretty decent on gas.

I have some even newer parts for the motor, but im going to focus on body work to start wit. fenders, and new box sides and some rocker panels and the rest seems to be pretty solid.

This truck is going to be my work truck/daily driver. It's a 3/4 ton with towing package, 4 speed saginaw sm465, and a 14 bolt rear end... the thing seems to be damn near bullet proof.

congrats, truck reminds me of mine. A little rough, but under the rust is a damn solid truck. Post pics when the body work gets underway too.

If you have access to that hoe behind it, you could use that to lift bed and cab off the frame. Wish I had access to one of those from time to time.

Re: It's Home!!! and there is pictures!

If you wanted to drive down to Seattle and were interested in an '80's front clip I could set you up with everything you needed.
At the very least I have a nice bed.

Seattle eh? how much are you looking for that stuff? PM me I'm very interested! It would be nice to have a box that wasnt pumbled by a giant falling tree. as far as the front end, i am interested but are the front fenders the same as on a 78?

Funny you should say that, My Dad actually is friends with the owner of that, so we have it for a a while. I have all the access to it I want, so taking the bed off and even putting a new one back on with that machine wouldn't be a half bad idea

Tomorrow comes the day where that engine is going to be getting new parts including a new cam, lifters, pushrods, roller rockers, Aluminum intake, Distributor, and a new carb. I'm also thinking about putting an electric fan on since i found one in my parts stash.

Hopefully with these new parts on the motor, and a 5 speed coming soon, as well as some much needed body work, this truck will be better then new! I'll keep you posted

Cory.

Re: It's Home!!! and there is pictures!

Reminds me of mine when I bought it, a retired farm truck with only like 72,000 miles on it. The bed rails were completely rusted out, bottom of both front fenders, and needed brakes badly. Well 10 years later and lots of TLC and money she is my baby. Good luck with the transformation, and that truck will give you plenty of years of satisfaction.

My truck looked pretty close to that when I first got mine. Up in your neck of the woods........I think I'd get that heater hooked back up!

Meh, its summer time now, not too worried about the heater. reason its disconnected is because the heater core itself is cracked.

And yes there is a lot of construction in cranbrook, its actually growing pretty fast now.

Also I installed the new intake, carb, and distributor, I will get pics tommorow hopefully, once im done with the new exhaust system.
