24 hours of LeMons

A select group of people that I work with have gotten together with me and formed a team for the 24 hours of LeMons (24hoursoflemons.com if you don't know what I am talking about) and as of last week, we are officially invited to race in the LeMons South race this July.

Check out our website, tunachuckers.googlepages.com

No, we are not racing a truck. That would be silly. For the race we needed an equally old and simply actual car. A Volvo 122. I know, it's not American, but hey, it's got carbs, pushrods and no Lucas electronics, a solid axle rear end, a stick, and it weights something like 2300 lbs stripped.

So wish us luck!

Oh, and if anyone feels like giving tons of sponsorship money to us, we would be happy to accept it and slap stickers all over the car - we are shameless like that.

We also need tons of safety equipment, balaclavas, helmets, fire suits, boots, gloves etc... if you have any laying about and are willing to donate, let me know.

Re: 24 hours of LeMons

So this is a NASCAr take off of the original race, the race I was thinking of is HERE

Why not race a truck? You can get it to handle just as good and have a ton more interest from the site and a potential sponsor....

I've wanted to do this since i first heard about it... looks like fun.
The key to winning is keeping the others from killin your car, and if you think your ride is about to puke it's guts, then put it in the pits till the end of the race... you can't place if you don't finidh.

Re: 24 hours of LeMons

Well that was about the most fun ever. Not "the most fun with your pants on" or "the most fun without alcohol". Just, "the most fun ever". Out little 66 Amazon did a great job. We had issues right away. The fuel tank pickup got clogged twice. Of course,. that's not the first thing we tried to fix. Three hours late, we entered the race in last, about 100 laps back. We finished 47th out of something around 80 cars. Check the links...

The peoples curse BMW got crushed very badly

How can you not respect guys with double our racing weight with brakes literally on fire?
