Any other 6.2 owners here?

I am starting to think i am the only diesel owner left on here. I just yanked my old 6.2 in favor of a low mileage 6.2 with a banks turbo set up.

I still got my 87 6.2 but with diesel $.50 over $4 gas, I'm driving the 24mpg minivan till it blows. BOught it last summer right before diesel went crazy, haven't even put plates on it. Start and drive it once a month just 'cause, know I will need to do brakes from sitting. Oh well.

I am in the midst of overhauling mine. Down to needing some heads and to rebuild the turbo. Currently overhauling the NV4500 to go in behind it

6.2L with 6.5L heads, J code turbo intake, GM3 turbo, 6.5L serpentine accessories etc

Here's my recent purchase. It's an 1986 M1008, 6.2 with a Turbo 400. It's no speed demon but pulls hard with the 4.56's.

Got two M1028s with the 6.2. One I use daily, gets better fuel mpg than my gas 06 K3500 but the price of diesel, geeze!

Re: Any other 6.2 owners here?

I too have a 6.2 in my '82. I'm in the process of getting it running since it sat from last August. It had a fuel leak when I parked it and now I'm sure there's air getting in the line because of it, which is why it wont start. And I may have drained the fuel in the process of driving it to my barn. After I get the thing running I'll be able to drive it to get all of my rebuild parts. Then it's getting a full make over by the end of summer or next spring. I may be swapping in a Duramax though later on, but not decided yet.

If these things sit for awhile you better put lots of fungisde in the fuel or drain out the old fuel.Still want to add conditioner.I have a`91 3/4t 4wd Suburban with a 6.2.I love that thing. My son had an M1038.
