Easy Question

I have a 72 C-10 and I will be re doing the brakes, suspension all that stuff. Basically stock rear drums and stock front disk. All new stuff with new llines, booster, mc, all that good stuff. IO have a set of new stock shocks for the front and back. I was thinking of running 16" Torques Thrusts to fill the wheel well a little better. Can I get 2" drop springs for the front and back and call it good or do I have to reinvent the wheel here. I'm not into the bag thing/laying frame stuff, just a little lower. Will this work?

Should be fine. A better solution would be 2" drop spindles, and springs for the rear. Remember if you want it level, you would have to get 4" drop springs for the rear. The reason I say spindles for the front, is that it keeps everything suspension and steering in the stock location with the correct geometries.

2 front and 4 in the back for level and 2 in the front 2 in the back for a lower, but original stance, correct? I don't want to reinvent the wheel and I hate to replace good parts for the ride height.

Check out ECE (Early Classic Enterprises) for stance photos, they make great products! The only reason I would use drop spindles vs. lowered springs, is that the spindles will help keep the original geometry on the front suspension. So you could run 2.5 drop spindles stock springs, and the lowering springs in the back. Should make for a sweet ride!

So 2 1/2" drop spindle front, stock front springs, 4" lowering springs in the back and shock relocation brackets. If that is correct let me know. I like the drop in the 2nd photo. Since mine is a Long Bed it should look lower. Will they work with stock brakes and will they make custom kits?

That will depend if you truck has disc or drum brakes. If you have discs, then you will have no problem running the 2.5" drop spindles. If you have drums you will have to do the drum to disc swap.

If you would like to keep your drums, you also have the option of running a lowered lower control arm. There are several threads pertaining to this modification, but I recall you said you wanted to stay away from a major overhaul of the suspension.

I think the 2.5" drop spindles/stock springs, and 4" drop springs in the back would look good. The shock relocators are a must, it will make a night and day difference. I can't recall if it would be beneficial to run some time of upgraded panhard bar (super trac bar).

Just checked ECE's website and they ran an adjustable panhard bar on their 2/4 drop kit (springs only), so you might consider purchasing that if you don't already have one.

I'm planning on running their 4.5/6 kit on my '72. They make great products, and their service is phenomenal!

Since yours is a 72 then you already have disc brakes, and the spindles will work great without having to redo everything, unless it is in need of replacing.

I just contacted ECE via email to see what it would cost to get the 2 1/2 drop spindle, rear springs, shock relocation on all four and adj. Panhard Bar shipped to Indiana. I have shocks and front springs so I don't want to buy them twice. I will post the reply from them just FYI.
