What size tires do you have on your 15X8 wheels?

I'm looking for larger tires for my 1970 Chevy CST-10....I bought it with these 235-70-15's on it. I just tried a 265-70-15 on the front with no apparent interferences...Next size up would be 265-75-15's....which I'm seriously considering , but before I buy, I'd like to know how much bigger I can go (while keeping my 6 bolt 15X8 rally rims). All experiences appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Re: Tire info. needed: Limits on size for 15" rims?

depends on the wheel width. Also, 265/75r 15 is the same size as 30x9.50 r 15 keep that in mind when choosing tires. most tire lines have either or but not both.

I'm pretty sure I have 15X8 rally wheels...I looked for the size on the back of the wheel but couldn't find anything stamped in....I measure with a tape....looks to be 8" wide at the bead.

Re: Biggest tire size for 15X8 rims?

Maybe I should have worded it this way: We all have 4 tires on our trucks...What are you running on yours? Thanks...Bob
