Newbie in San Diego!

Hi everyone! My name is Ron. I am picking up my 71 suburban this weekend. Seems to have a lot of extra parts in the back. It's going to be about a 2 1/2 hour drive home, but I can't wait. It's a 2wd, I want to slam it (maybe airbags someday?). I have been ghosting these forums for a few weeks and I think I have found my new home. Seems like a ton of great ideas and advice on here! I can't wait to get started. Pics to come after I pick her up!

Re: Newbie in San Diego!

I forgot to mention, I am the former owner of a 71 chevy swb, which is the pic in my avatar over there until I take a cool one with the new ride!

Welcome from Utah. Burbs are challenging but well worth it. Good Luck with your build.

Re: Newbie in San Diego!

Ok all... well good news and bad news. Thank you all for the welcome. I have been scouring craigslist and ebay for a 68-72 or even a 67 (no offense) SWB. The burb deal didn't go through and get this, I picked up a 91 SWB for $1500 cash locally today. It's going to be a little bit different than I originally thought this whole project would be now. I hope you all don't hate me too much for filling up your burb boards! I guess I will see you all in a different subforum on this site! Thanks again for the welcome.

Re: Newbie in San Diego!

<---- PO did the grill, but I like the look! It also had the unstamped tailgate skin and no emblems anywhere. I actually got a parking ticket one time for that truck that said make/model: unk/unk. I thought it was awesome, but it had my VIN and plates on it. haha.

Re: Newbie in San Diego!

This one is actually a GMC, not mine, this is the one I was going to buy. I guess that means it is still up for grabs in the Riverside/San Bernandino Region of Los Angeles.
