Lighting question....need guru

I am convinced that my "multi-function" switch, aka turn signal switch, is my problem. I have looked at the schematic of the electrical system that is in a Chilton's book, and I think I can see a possibility.

For instance, the interior light no longer comes on when the door is opened. It would have been a good thing when I was dating, but I'm 60....ain't gonna happen. The door jamb switch is evidently good because leaving the key in the ignition will sound a buzzer when you open the door/cycle the door jamb switch. The right signal, on occasions, will blink fast.....like when you get the switch moved just a tad.....but it ain't a bad bulb. The underhood trouble light has worked once in the past year. All other lighting functions work okay. I can live with it, but the anal part of my psyche gets torqued when the turn signal blinks fast....like a bulb is burned out. Am I being too anal?
