Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

Who makes a set-up like this?My chassis is set up with 6" drop coils.I know this is pushing it w/o a C-notch.I plan to haul and tow so I want to got with air suspension back there so I can keep it off the frame. No C-notch wanted on this truck.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

I'm not using them in place of the coils but with them. I measured them and foundout they have about any kind you need. I had to order them from Jegs though.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Tim,

Either Air Ride Technologies or Suicide Doors can set you up.

Just replace your coils with bags and use schrader valves to fill them. Clean and simple and works very well. Forum member Scoti has the scoop on what you need...

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

Yes these bags go inside the coils and you put air manually into them. You don't even have to take the spring out to install them. I ordered mine yesterday just for the bottoming out when I hit a hard bump in the road. I have a old vacume pump my dad gave me years ago with a single gauge for air shocks he use to run for the camper. It's a GM part. I plan to use it for filling the bags when I need to.
The pump works off the engine vacuum and you have a gauge in the cab to see how much air is in the system.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

Those air-lift bags work excellent and they cost 78 bucks. What a deal.I run them with a 70-72 Monte Carlo spring. It gives a nice soft ride, and you adjust the air pressure accordingly. If you have to haul something, just air them up a little more.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

The biggest issue with the ECE bags are they are $200 a piece for the bags. They are nice riding piston style ones like the big trucks use but two regular ones with a schrader or that Air Lift kit would be the way to go.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

I`ve used the AirLifts with standard springs by vehicle application. But,you can specify a dimension?I may eventually go with the true air-ride,but I have the new coils mounted and alot more to do on the truck.Once built it will definately get refined.Like a Gear Vendor coupled with the M22.Dig that, split all 4 gears when profiling.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

Tim,
just call them (air lift) with ID of spring and height of it at ride height they will give you a part number as I did. Then call summit or jegs for the price. They are speical order so it was a little more $ 100.00 shipped.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

I'm 3" in the back. I measured the height and it was 5 1/2" tall sitting normally. I have no notch either so it would bottom out on hard bumps I hope this will solve this problem.

Re: Rear Bags in Place of Coils Q?

Thanks.II just have a bare chassis now.I guess I`ll have to wait to measure.I have 6" drop springs which you can get away with w/o a notch and are carefull. That`s why I want bags to air up if I haul.I figured you`d be fine with 3" drop w/o air lifts.
