newbie question re: repair panels

How do you attach repair panels? Do the old panels have to be cut out and the new ones welded in?

I'll probably need 2 door panels, both front fenders, and either a new bed or a bigass patch panel.

I have a 110v miller mig/wirefeed welder. Will this work, or will it burn through?

Rust has to be cut out and new patch panels cut and put in in their place.

Your Miller will be great for body panel work with a little practice. I have even been using structural adhesive for my patch panels rather than welds(bodyshops use it for some applications) -- it works great but is arguably more time consuming and is better when you have a body line to integrate it into

Sounds like you have a big project going on -- thankfully the front fenders are almost bolt-ons at least

Re: newbie question re: repair panels

that door shell is linked out of my catalog. The door shell completely replaces the current door you have and all the internals bolt back into the door. It attaches at the hinges on the door frame.

Re: newbie question re: repair panels

Chris, PM sent.

yeah I got that from your catalog, nice stuff you have there.

So is any welding involved w/ the door shell?

What's the ballpark shipping price to Austin, TX 78704?
(duh, I just saw you list $125/150 shipped, is that per door shell?)

thanks!

Re: newbie question re: repair panels

Nope, no welding required for the shell buddy. Just unbolt and bolt on.

Re: newbie question re: repair panels

Truck shipping isn't per door. It is per palet. Generally you can get 2 doors and 2 fenders on a palet, I don't know what the limit is though. Haven't sent more than that.
