Re: project nightmare
Wow, looks like the '80's grabbed ahold of that thing and won't let go. As far as starting goes, start with basics: Air, Fuel, Compresion. Obviously, your getting air. I would check for spark first. With an HEI, the ignition modules are known to go south. I'd almost be willing to bet that's what it is. How long has it sat?
It's cool to see a Rocket in there. Those are real good motors. Had a couple myself. Torque MONSTERS!

Re: project nightmare
I decipher your Vin as the following
C=2wd S = inline 6 cylinder 1= 1/2 ton 57 = 115' wheelbase (shortbed) 0D = 67-69 fleetside good luck with your build.

Re: project nightmare
After looking over your pics again, I seen the pic of your fuse box. All that needs to be sorted out. One thing to keep in mind with automotive wiring is grounds, grounds, and grounds. And then go back and check your grounds. A little off the subject, but I once had a 2004 Frieghtliner in because it was completely dead. No nothing. Turned out to be a bad fog light switch that was grounding out. No kidding. Good luck with your project. I'll be watching.
