Changing 68 GMC for 68 chevy front grilles
Any help here would be appreciated.
I am restoring a 68 gmc (dual headlights) and am interested in doing to 68 chevy front grille instead. The design of the hood and fenders look the same, so I think you have to change the grilles and that is it? The radiator support may also need to be changed, or just ignore the second headlight? Also, I would be willing to swap this with anyone interested. Some of the parts I own are already painted and cleaned up.....just a thought. |

Re: Changing 68 GMC for 68 chevy front grilles
You will need to swap out the core support for the chevy version. Not only does the bowtie unit have 2 less headlight buckets- the two that remain are mounted in a slightly different location, IIRC.
BTW- I happen to have a "spare" core support and grill (w/o trim) that I would swap for a nice tailgate or pair of good chrome sport bumpers. Or I'd consider selling it outright if need be.

Thanks! I wish I had those parts to swap you with. Can you send me some pics and a price for that front end?
