6 lug rotors?

I want to keep the burban on 6 luggars when I lower it, anyone know what 6 lug rotors came on or where to find some? I am going to use 2.5 drop spindles and 3" drop coils. also looking for a brake booster if anyone knows where to find one that fits our trucks. I cant afford the aftermarket kit, $900 for brakes is to much for a truck that already stops good.

Are you looking for a factory power brake booster and mounting wedge? If so, post an ad in the parts for sale forum.

Re: 6 lug rotors?

KD,

Check out D&R classics it's the palce that I bought my drilled and slotted rotors. They are not your mainstream truck parts place. However I know that they had 6 lug and 5.5 lug when I bought mine. I have to say DAM they are nice and not cheap repo's.

I paid 168 for mine drilled and 5x5.5 but might be worth a look...

Regards.. Heres a pic, I know that this is 5.5 but give you and idea how nice they are....

Re: 6 lug rotors?

Yes, you do need the 88-9? spindles and 3/4 lower ball joints and 88 upper ball joints.

The 88-9? spindles are a dime a dozen and good priced too. Aftermarket lift or lowered.

The rotors are cheap and the calipers are about the same price.

At least I don't feel like I'm being abused for owning a 67 truck, by buying the later model common parts.

I'm collecting the parts to convert mine right now (that's why I have the rotor part numbers in front of me)

Re: 6 lug rotors?

Joe,

That is the place, just call them Trust me the specialize in 55,6,7 chevy and camaro's and nova's But they have truck stuff too...Not like our vendors of course but they beat all the prices I could find for drilled and slotted. Yes 5 x 5.5 these are truck rotors.....

Re: 6 lug rotors?

thanks Soba
I'm confused why you are running 5 on 5.5, Chevy truck pattern is 5 on 5, or 6 on 5.5.
Dodge, Ford, Jeep, and IH are the ones I know of who have 5 on 5.5

Re: 6 lug rotors?

If you use a mid 70's frontend set up and convert to 5 lug, you can get rotors for these prices.. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...pe=221&PTSet=A

My research found that for this conversion your need 3/4 ton lower A-ARMS to be able to press in 88-98 1/2 ton ball joints (the 3/4 ton lowers use the same diameter press in size as the 1/2)

So your say a 3/4 ton 88-98 ball joint will press into our old a-arms ?

And is needed for the 1/2 ton lift/lower spindle ??

I am checking on the lower A-Arm ...I have a pair of 3/4 lowers in storage and I will grab a pair of calipers and do some checking. I would hate to have to sell my brand new tubular lowers...

If the lower mounting cup is different then yes you would need 3/4 lower arms (I saw a bunch at the U-Pull It yard a couple of weeks ago)

The upper arms, the ball joint just bolts in, no problem there

Re: 6 lug rotors?

I have decided on the CPP rotors, mainly because a fellow board member, suicide_63, hooked me up with a swingin deal! I love this board!

I'm collecting parts for this conversion also.....yes you do need to use 3/4 ton lower a-arms (the '67-'72's have a lower bumpstop mount). I'm contemplating doing a little surgery on some '73-'87 1/2 ton lowers so I can use them since I like those bushings better. For more info on this swap HERE is the thread in the FAQ's. I can help with part numbers if anyone needs help finding the parts.
