Does a factory Tach dash require a ground wire??
I have a confirmed 12v at the back of the tach on the 12V side and have the "tach" wire hooked up to the HEI............but no tach movement.
Is there another lug that needs a ground wire???

Re: Does a factory Tach dash require a ground wire??
The cluster itself should have a ground lead from the back metal case to the truck. My truck doesn't have this ground and I have never had any trouble with tachs not working at all( believe me I have tested several hundred of these dashes). Most likely you have a bad tach or a bad connection in your tach wiring harness somewhere.
