How much does an Eaton weigh?

Anyone know what the 3rd member/or take out pumpkin weighs out of an Eaton HO52 or HO72 rear end? If anyone has shipped one; what kind of shipping container and which carrier did you use?
Thanks
Ron

Re: How much does an Eaton weigh?

I took one, wrapped it in plastic, dropped it into a milk crate, zip tied it to the crate on 4 ot 5 points, then wrapped the whole thing in cardboad and tape. (had a but more packing in there, but you get the idea)
I've shipped 2 or 3 of them like this. They came in at just shy of 100 pounds. I used DHL, which 100 pounds is there cut off, so you don't want to get too crazy with fillers and layers of card board.

I shipped one entire third member to Texas from Winnipeg and sent it UPS, and it weighed 142 lbs..UPS limit was 150lbs at the time. I shipped it in a wooden crate and included the ring and pinion gears and the detroit locker all inclusive.
