I am thinking about buying this truck

I will probably use it to put the body on my 79 K10 frame. Acually my 79 4x4. This way I would not have to smog it and I could try and make it get pretty good milage with one of those TBI eingines. Or just leave it as a 2wd and put a tbi engine in the truck. It is a 64 C20 with a V8 and 4 speed tranny. It has been used as a farm truck and has not been reg for the past 20 years. The radiator is missing (Ihave an extra) and he says it runs.. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention that he is asking $350...

Re: I am thinking about buying this truck

There is no vin# plate. The original owner removed it and stamped the cab metal for some reason. I am going to take a look at it. The vin#'s are still stamped on the frame..

Re: I am thinking about buying this truck

The missing vin plate will be a problem. Contact your state DMV and get the facts before you buy the truck.

Re: I am thinking about buying this truck

could have been stolen long time ago and used on a farm so it would not be found... anything is possible when VIN's are removed

Re: I am thinking about buying this truck

Thats ok.. I am going to pass on it. I would have to rent a trailer and drive my 79 over 100 miles to get it then over to my storage and back home. by then I would spend over $100 on gas alone. Then all the inspections and dealing with DMV and maybe having to take it to CHP to get a new vin plate if it is not stolen, which I dought. The truck spent it's farm life in Nevada city.. So if anyone else might be interested here is the link... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/721957596.html

Nevada City huh ?? Next time I go up there, I'll check it out (if it's still available). Wifes grandma lives down there.

I don't want it, just want to see whats up with the vin plate.
