Rob,
I hope I got you right, normally you`ll need the fenders, hood, grille, lamp bezels, lights, radiator support and the lower grille panel to get this job done.
Be sure to get all those parts, then it`ll be easy.

Rob

Your going to have to mod the cowl to accept the '81-'87 style hood hinges. That's the biggest deal. Eveything else is a bolt on. If you can transfer the the hole for the hinge off the donor truck,... is should be alot easier.

Re: qustion about 85 chevy front clip on a 80 chevy

I know there was a thread on this once before, and I think it contained a link from the K5 forums. Anyway here is some info for the swap.

http://coloradok5.com/grilleswap.shtml
This article covers it pretty good.

Hope it helps,

Oh, and you mentioned you had access to the whole clip, make sure you also get the cowl panel and wiper arms with the linkage if you can. These require drilling a couple of holes near the current one's to mount them. They are required as they have longer shafts than the 73-80 style.

Hope this helps..
