Board meet July 08 * read read read*

There have been several folks asking when the board meet is. Well its in a few weeks

The board meet is being graciously hosted by Ron 586 and his family this year, in Big Sandy Tennessee http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...7,4.812012&z=8. It will take place July 11-13.

Now for those thinkink ** dang I want to go, but I can't because

a.) my truck is not done.... well neither is ours, nor will it be there. If you can bring a truck cool!! if not.. well bring yourself and come hang out with some of the finest gearheads you will ever meet.

b.) I cant afford to drive my truck there... well don't, many of us can not afford the gas in our babies for a trip like this.. bring your econobox, show up in a ricer, take your wifes focus.. hell if we care what you drive.. just get there

c.) uh I dunno about meeting up with internet folks, I hear they are evil... well you use the computer, your on the internet.. so maybe your just as evil nah really we have had countless meets and met tons of board members.. noone tried to rape kill poison or do any scarey myspace moves on anyone else yet.

d.) my wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend is not into trucks, the will have a bad time.... bull dinky, we have had several spouces dragged to the meets unwillingly.. and ya know what, most of them tell us how awesome it was and how they can not wait for the next one

e.) I have to many kids, I cant bring them and survive..... ya well join the club this is a family friendly event and the kids have as much of a blast as the adults, and they meet new friends as well.

f.) its to far.... well ya it may be, but we have had folks drive from canada, fly from wa and drive cross country with no regrets.. if its possible for you to make it, we expect to see you.

now that the bs excuses are out of the way... there is a dang cheap hotel lots of folks are staying at that information is here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=290207
some of us are bringing campers/tents or trailers and staying right at Rons place. The information on that is at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=295776
and some others are staying at nearby campgrounds. the information on that is located at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=286379

Did someone mention parts?? we have a swap meet planned out with advance post trade going on now at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=294455 this is for members attending the meet only !! not a sale on site post.

Hmm what was that? You want to go on a fishing trip this summer instead? well guess what, you can do that here too! From what I have heard, folks at Rons lil shindigs end up catching a mess of fish in his lil fishing hole. mmmm fish fry anyone?

Now if the thought of friends, trucks, parts, food and fun do not do it for ya.. well I am not sure what will so pack up the family and come hang out with the best folks on the net.

we are taking a final headcount for food and drink purposes. If you think you can attend, please let us know. If you already signed up, please let us know again anyway. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=295958

To add to what Liz said, if you don't have the money, or refuse to spend the money, or any variant of that scenereo... you can always try to get ahold of someone local that's headed there, or someone who is comeing through to get there.
Last year, I rode with Racin Jason and his wife. I was headin to Cali 2 weeks after the meet, plus, my truck isn't up to that kinda trip. I gave them gas money, so the fuel burden was less on there wallet, and I got to go.
This year, Longhoair and I are rollin together. If I get the burb done in time, we're rollin in it... if not, then we'll be in his HHR panel. Either way, I'm giving him gas money, he's givin me gas money... plus I'll have someone help push if something bad happens.

Re: Board meet July 08 * read read read*

I too will be making my first National Meet. However i have been to a couple dozen meets over the past 5 years or so.Some as small as 2 guys getting together to strool a car show,3 guys doing a JY crawl(last weekend) the Maggie Valley meet at the Chevy/GMC nats and several Charlotte Auto Fairs where there are always a lot of members.I ahve yet to meet a member I did not like.I have yet to regret spending my time this way.I have yet to get the MySpace thingy Liz mentioned(but a guy can hope, can't he).My wife has been to PF when the Nats were there and she had fun(outlet mall).
I've found that with few exceptions I enjoy spending time with these truck nuts so much that I wish there were more events i could attend like this.
In closing I will just say"If you are not coming and can,you are cheating yourself out of a good time!"
