Help with 67-68 GMC

Run into a little snag converting my 72 Chevy K20 to a 67-68 GMC K20
I have the right fenders, hood, new 67 grille, but what I need is the filler panel that goes between the hood and grille itself. I'm not looking for the piece that attaches on top of the hood. I'm going for a look with no flashy trim, just don't want a gap between the hood and grille like I have now.

Depending on where I go for research, I am told that this trim piece is either called the hood lip molding, top grille bar, or grille filler panel. I also read that it either attaches to the grille or the hood. What exactly do I need and where can I get it? Pics of what I am talking about below. Thanks!

Re: Help with 67-68 GMC

I did the same swap. Not shur what the proper name is, I call it a grill top bar. They are not reproduced and are very hard to come by. I ended up buying one from a fellow board member. Good luck with the swap.

Oh and it pop rivets to the holes in the top of the grill. I went with a 67 grill too but you could also use a 68 or 69 the holes are the same.

Ben IV it on the 'Nose' (no pun intended) you need the grill top bar to get rid of the gap your talking about. Again he is right about that is the one piece nobody has reproduced for the front of these trucks. You need to find a good OEM piece. Shouldn't be that hard to talk someone out of one since most people change over to Chevy front end. (thats how I get my GMC stuff) post on the WTB section on this board you may get one from there.
