"Stock Themed" paintjobs?
Looking for pics of squarebody trucks, blazers, and suburbans, with "stock themed" paintjobs. Im painting my 2wd K5 soon, and am back and fourth about what colors. I have thought lexus dark metallic gunmetal, with the stock stripe a dark maroon metallic, but also thought about escalade pearl white, with dark olive green metallic stripe, but just throw up some stock themed paintjobs. Little bit of graphics dont matter, custom colors a must! Classic or badass both! Here are a few examples of what im looking/going for.
also, if any idea, feel free to drop by the photoshop forum, and give it a shot! |

Here are a few more pics. I think a stock themed paintjob is great. Its up to you on the color choice though. Check out the color combo on the riviera.

I have a thing for the 76 sport. I'm gonna do a ratty rendition of this on my lowered stepside.

I had a set of those wheels on my '77 many years ago.

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
I think boatpuller's truck is one of the baddest trucks on here. I think it might would look even better if it were black and gold instead. Either way, there are a lot of color combos on this thread.

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
Where can I get the pinstripe tape to do a two-tone paint job for '87? I checked LMC and only found the vinyl molding that goes along the bottom.

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
well, i think this is a great thread, keep it going, but i wont be using it anytime soon really. i was planning on trading some work for a co-worker to paint my blazer. well, im putting in my two weeks in a few days, as i snagged a different job, or possible a different one, so the paint will be pushed back. no worries, this means more time for body mods!

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
The paint is working its way to 'patina' status as we speak. I'll slap some Dropmembers on it & call her done in a year or two.

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
Do you want a two tone or single color?
When you go to do the stereo let me know. Paint's really not my thing...

Re: "Stock Themed" paintjobs?
pretty nice looking trucks. Here's mine.
I am looking for a k5 blazer to build and will probably duplicate all aspects of my truck into it. The only thing I plan on changing is the wheels. And here is the real shocker. I was telling my wife my plans to build a blazer and I told her that after I sold my truck I would start the process and she told me "I don't want you to sell your truck, if you want to build a blazer then do it, you can have both." and the real kicker is I have witnesses that she said it. One of the witnesses was my mother-in-law. looks like a pretty air tight case to me. |
