Need help Edelbrock carb
Just went to the neighbors. He put on a 1406 and every time the engine cranks, it pushes large amounts of fuel into the intake. Each time the fuel pump cycles, it moves an ounce or more. After 3-5 seconds the cylinders hydro lock. Any ideas as to why the float is not stopping the fuel ? Any suggestions ? It is brand new out of the box.

I would pull the top of the carb, & check float levels & also check for any machining trash & or stuck float needle . I had to reset the float levels on my 1407, as it ran rich enough that it would foul plugs(1 float was too high). You may also check fuel pressure if running a bigger pump. My guess is that it has a stuck needle tho.... good luck.....
