cdowns is right, but that appears to have been shipped with a stepside bed, and the upfitter or dealership or whoever replaced the fenders with those tool boxes. My dad used to have a similar International Harvester 3/4 ton 2wd truck.

Re: factory service body??

I saw one a couple weeks ago.The owner said it was a dealer ad-on option for a stepside.I doubt Chevy made them though.I don't recall seeing any in the ads but I don't follow or collect them.Maybe SeeTen has seen an ad with info.

Re: factory service body??

GM certinaly didn't do it, they didn't modify anything. They may well have had companys modify it after production, like conversion vans and the extended cabs of 72 and older trucks.

Re: factory service body??

You could order a cab & chassis, then go have an upfitter install a body.Or,like this one, there were boxes made to replace the Stepside fenders and running boards.
