New Member Saying Hello

Hi all,
I'm new here and just wanted to say hi. To say that I have found my dream truck would be an understatement. I recently picked up an original owner 1970 Chevy 1/2 ton SWB with 176k on it. My father had a truck just like this when I was a kid and we always dreamed of restoring it but unfortunately he was forced to sell it. I've been searching for the right truck since my father passed about 3 years ago and I've found it. As you can see it is 99% original with a tired 307. My plans are to tear it apart and do a complete resto with my son in my father's memory. I got it for 3k and I think I got a great deal. There is only some surface rust on the bottom of the door and around the drip rail (which I will probably remove). The only cancer spot is the passenger side rocker and a bad cut/weld job on the passenger fender. Enough of the talking here are some pics.

From South Florida. What your doing with your son is a great thing. My son and I are restoring (and hot rodding) a 69' SWB Stepside. He's almost 23 but were still working together on it. My wife says she loves watching he and I work on that old truck. It's all about Quality Time. Enjoy it.

First of all, From the bottom of my heart thank you for you service to our country. I have a great deal of respect for any man or woman serving our country.
My son is only 3 right now but I am NEVER letting this truck go and I figure in about 10 years we can start the serious work on it together. I don't blame my dad for selling his 69 (I think my mom and him really needed the money) but I will never forget the feeling seeing someone drive off with OUR truck and I won't let that happen to my boy.

Re: New Member Saying Hello

WELCOME to the board dude!! Congrats on your find, it sounds like it's pretty sentimental, maybe do a title search and see if the truck you have was your fathers.
