Re: Show me your projects and builds

Alot of you guys know my '85.

Current project at the moment is redoing the lower door panels in carpet and white plexi to match the sub box.

In a few years (when I have the money), I'm going to swap in a newer Vortec motor, making about 400hp and a 4L80E. Cal-Tracs traction bars and larger sway bars are also on the list...

Re: Show me your projects and builds

Everyone here is probably sick of seeing my old 86 K10 by now, but it's been a 4 year off and on ongoing project. I still drive it regularly, so when I get all of my parts together it's going down to the frame for a total revamp.

Currently, as most of you know already by other posts that I have put up, I have been building a 350 to go in between the framerails at some point. Right now the 350 makes the rest of the truck look so bad that I won't dare put it in until the eventual teardown. I have been keeping my eye out for a better cab than what I have, but so far no luck.

Here is my 350 after I tore it down to the block, and where it currently is now. I need a few more odds and ends to finish it up, then maybe I can start concentrating on getting all the body parts together that I need to make it look as good as my 350 does! ...Joe

Re: Show me your projects and builds

77 Cheyene, is slow at the moment, waiting on parts to come half way around the world, thought the rest had arrived but no carpet and a few other bits to come.

from this

to this

to this

Should get all the windows in next week.

I see we all have our own problems to cope with, but we do make progress in our own time.

Re: Show me your projects and builds

slowly pluggiin away at mine to get it back on the road. Unfortunately the 56 willys stole her spot in the garage and I have been at school for the past 2 years with no real time to work on her.

Gotta get some seat belts
replace glass fuel filter
top off tranny
Burn off that two year old gas sitting in both tanks (stabil helped but..)

We are getting real close to registration tho!

here is my old 85 which i sold about 5 years ago. Good old 305 700r4 but she was a bit ripe in the frame region

Re: Show me your projects and builds

Here's my current driver:

The passenger side looks a lot worse, the cancer got to her real bad. And yes I know the backspacing on the front and rear wheel is different, but this is all I had and I did not realize they were different until I bolted them up. I am thinking about fixing it, but I have this to work on too:

SO I think I may just wind up building a SWB like I really want. The box is junk because someone attempted to fix some rust and turned the bedsides to waves. I also have a clean cab for it. I need a 4/8/4l60e and a bed and im good to start. I just really hate to cut up and throw away my tan truck because i've had it since I was 16.

Re: Show me your projects and builds

I got all the bed liner off the sides finally, have some lft on the hood. But still on the look-out of the correct brake lines (already returned 2 sets). Drop it 3 inches. Cut finders. Fill some holes and off to paint.

Well it’s been up on jack stands for over a month now but I finally got the bushing mounts for my control arms back from the machine shop and I’m just waiting for the ball joint mounts to start welding them together. I’m hoping to have it back on the road it the next two weeks.
