Thumbs up Update

Got my p/s belt to stop squealing (I think). Will know for sure in a couple of days after I've had time to drive it around a bit. Bypassed the upper pulley, cleaned the lower pulley, and made sure it wasn't too slick from all the slippage. So far, so good.

Installed my starter today in the RAIN (I was determined!). Oh man!! I didn't realize how bad it was until I had the new one in. The old one only seemed bad to me when it wouldn't engage before. I thought the way it sounded was just my truck. It always had kind of a high pitched tone when I'd start it before. Now it sounds so much better when starting and starts immediately when I turn the key. What a difference! I also made sure all my wires to the solenoid were good and as far away from the headers as possible.

So now I'm on to the next project...replacing the bolts to the steering gear. I'm actually having a shop do that for me on Wednesday. I'm taking a break beings this is the first time I've had someone else do any work on it since I've owned it.
Within a couple weeks after that will come rear axle seal and rear brakes.

Then maybe I can stop spending money on things that have to be fixed and start working on other stuff I've been wanting to do to it.

Good going.

Don't it feel good to get these little PITA things taken care of?

Don't fret, we all have them. Little things that will drive you crazy if you let it.

Yes it does Mike. I actually fixed (like crap) my exhuast like atthe manifold. One (th other) injection tube was popping off during driving. Man did my truck sound like sh*t. Anyway I brass plugged the hole this weekend. And no more falling out. But now the passenger side injection tubes are just hanging there

MAN I NEED HEADERS!!! Im saving up now. I have about 300 bones to spend. But Im going to do the entire exhuast. And im pretty sure im going to ceramic coat the headers (Christmas present from Girl Friend.... I hope )

I not sure what the consensus is here on headers, but you can get some ceramic coated Dynomax headers (unfortunately not with the cool ball flanges on the collector) for 209.99 at jegs (#289-86003)
