Back half looks good Front Coming soon
Ive had this old 71 for about 10 years or so and havent had time to do much more than work it to death.Took it in trade for a bad debt of $500,at the time had new clutch presure plate throw out bearing, rear brakes and shocks, swaped out rear end and 4 speed trans [good from broken,PO found out it wasent good to do to many donuts on dry asphalt] a newly reupholsterd front seat and a current R.I. inspection sticker.A few years latter I put this stake body dump on that I bought the PTO,hoist and controls for from a guy I knew for $150 Then last year I was so tired of driving it looking like a POS that I started fixing her up.I sand blasted primed and painted the frame and dump hoist from the cab back, also replaced the deck with all new preasure treated wood. This summer I hope to sand blast, repair, and paint this cab that I repaired about12 years ago for another guy, wound up buying it 2 owners later.Had new floors rockers, supports and corners, Needs to have vents fixed small floor patch and new corners again as well as over the windsheild fixed. When I swap the cab over I will hopefully blast and paint front frame also.I know you guys like pics so hear you go ,Ill post more as I go.

Re: Back half looks good Front Coming soon
Well it only took 7 years but I finally got the new cab,(not the one in the above pictures) done and started taking the old cab apart today. Here's Some pictures of the new cab in progress on the cartissery I built and a couple of the same one coming off the trailer after my son fixed up the dents and cab corner seams and painted it at his buddy Pat's shop. Going to touch up the back and sandblast ,prime and paint the front half when the old cab gets off. Its almost ready now hopefully will be off tomorrow and Ill yank the engine and transmission to better get at the frame.

I was really liking the maroon cab, it must have been a 69. That was a one year color. I really like the dump bed wished I had one like that for my C30.

I like that color too. didn't know it was a 1 year deal though. That cab had a lot of rot on the firewall. Found that orange one on craigs list for free. Needed a lot of work too but was a better start, plus it had the clearance lights also.

Re: Back half looks good Front Coming soon
A little update got the frame blasted primed and painted. replaced all the fuel and brake lines this weekend. Next I'm going to finish washing up the engine and replace all the leaky oil gaskets and give her a coat of new paint and stick it back onto the frame. Then I'll be ready to put the new cab on.

Did a bit more this weekend. Got the engine clean and painted. Re-mated to the trans and back into the frame. Didn't get the picture yet but also got the starter, exhaust manifolds and steering box back on too.

Re: Back half looks good Front Coming soon
Haven't posted any new pictures of the progress in a while, thought I'd bring things up to date a bit. Got a few out of sequence but here's some of the cab coming down on the frame from the lift and then after its on. 1 with brake booster and master on and one of the underneath.

Thanks! She's been a long time coming, can't wait to put her back to work. I think she'll turn some heads.
