Re: Steering Column Schematic

I have a break out of the steering on my cardomain page, along with some pics from the board with close up photos of the pieces. Click on the build page link in my signature.

Re: Steering Column Schematic

so what parts need to be replaced in a non-tilt column, when the shift assembly (auto) is wobbly, and not smooth?

Re: Steering Column Schematic

Perhaps someone can help. I searched but found nothing but the diagram. My turn sigs would not work, the stick would not move. Something came apart in the column. I have a 72, 3OT moved to a floor shifter and a grant steering wheel. The wheel itself is rubbing on the collar that is #36 in the above diagram. If I pull on the wheel it moves about 1/2" and spins freely but then returns. I tore it down and a bunch of shaved copper fell out along with a mangled piece of copper that was on top of my ts switch. I threw that piece over the hill and put it back together and all works except cancelling ts. Why is there 1/2 " of play?? Thanks..dave
