How do I know what is under the paint on my '67 Grille?
I want to take the two center sections down to the bare stainless, but I see some rust in places under the paint. was it originally white then and not stainless? I was going to use laqouer thinner on it but I hate to make it look worse tahn what it does now????? HELP?!?!?!?!
Also, how do I take them off? Last edited by 1Low53Burb; 06-29-2008 at 05:37 PM. |

They were probably originally painted steel, and could have been white. The shiny ones were anodized aluminum not stainless. Some guys have the steel ones chrome plated. There are small nuts on the back that hold them on and some of them are tough to get to with the grill in the truck. LockDoc
