Re: c notch with stock bed floor?

If it's a large c-notch you will need to either raise the bed floor or add a notch cover.

Re: c notch with stock bed floor?

You're going to have to make a compromise to get low and tow... I would raise the bed floor.

That's exactly why my 77 sits like it does. You can't get much lower with a stock bed, and I refused to cut it up. Your going to have to find a compromise somewhere.

Re: c notch with stock bed floor?

on my 92 I rasied the floor 4" but did it in a way that appeared stock just shallower. I cut it in between the rolled lines and then trimmed and adjusted the cut so the lines lined back up tricking the eye into seeing a stock bed. At the time I was hauling a drag bike and couldn't have the "hump" notch cover. other than the "step" at the gate with it folded down It worked as good as a stock floor for my needs.

Josh
PS decided to add some pics I know it's not a 67-72 but the fundamental is sound:
floor raised but no inner fenders yet:

two with the fenders trimmed back in, added a piece across the top of the fenders to account for bed wall sloping away as it went up:

can't find any after it was repainted but it's tough to tell where it was modded unless you know the stock lines. It is pretty obvious that it's shallower though

Now I really like the way your truck sits. Is that bagged? or a static drop?

Runninlo,

That looks good man, its funny to see how many people don't notice that the floor is raised with the tailgate shut

It's bagged. Let me clarify that I could go about an 1 lower, but I wanted it to roll when aired out.

Re: c notch with stock bed floor?

Contact Frank (7t7) and get pics of his bed. He raised it up like RunninLo has pictured.

RunninLo your avatar cracked me up.

Re: c notch with stock bed floor?

I'm hoping to be doing my squarebody similarly once I get the susp. pieced together and will chronicle it in the build page when that is started.

N2 I had my burb as my avatar but I also have a pic in profile. decided I wanted a gif that did something. I have one that is an orange kitten scratching turntables but it was about 300kb and too big to be used here. this one works for me and meets the site's req. fitting too since I'm almost as big a cat guy as a truck guy.

Can you provide more info on your suspension setup?
