Pillar Gauge Pods

Anybody use those gauge pods that mount on the pillar of the truck near the windshield? I'd like to install a tranny temp and oil temp gauge on my 97 K3500, looks like the best place to put them...

Re: Pillar Gauge Pods

Sure do have one! Only reason I got this: trans temp gauge. After losing my first trans, I decided to get one in. Cheap insurance, especially when you watch gauges like I do. My truck, stock, ran about 120-130 degrees, runs 160-170 now with the 35's, easy in town driving. Hellofa difference. We'll see on the highway today, maybe put an aftermarket cooler in it, gears may help.

Re: Pillar Gauge Pods

Mark- which manufacturer did you go with for that triple gauge pod? I like the full length look.
Thanks

Re: Pillar Gauge Pods

to be honest Steve, I don't remember right off hand. The local tranny shop ordered it with my trans temp gauge when they put the new tranny in. If I look around, I might remember which one it is. I know I had to trim a little to get mine to fit just right. Would have been easier with a dremel, I had to use the old cut and fit technique, haha. When they say drill four holes, drill em all. I used all six of those little trim clip thingies they gave me. They'll come in black, you can buy cans of interior color spray paint, Du-Pont I think? Can buy it anywhere, and it matches good. I'll try and figure out which one mine was, if I can.
