Re: I would have taken the Money

Looks like a "built" truck. In the background there are some other equaly nice rides.I would imagine he has way more then that in it since pro builders put tons of hours into one and they do charge more tham a Benz dealer.

Re: I would have taken the Money

I think it looks right for the price, if you can't build your own. The only thing I find odd is that they have this awesome interior, very custom, then they used the boring outdated Vintage Air controls. The round dial style would have been more appropriate in my opinion. Other than that a nice truck , JMHO.

Yep and it got picked apart at that price too! I think it's a fine ride. Lots of time went into it. Yes, some things I would have done differently, but I wouldn't kick it out of my garage!

Re: I would have taken the Money

I can say its not worth the money. I cant say its not a nice ride. But in my oppinion theres too many things that look like afterthoughts or maybe just not matched up very well. I know my oppinion stinks just like everyone elses but its just the wrong cmbination of things for my taste.

The hot rod instument cluster doesnt match anything but the door handles. Air gauge all by its self. A buncha stuff is hidden, yet other things are right out in the open and look dumb, like the modern sterio. I agree with the vintage air controls, the only thing they match is the out of place sterio. Thats not to say I wouldnt LOVE to own it but for the price listed it would have to be exactly the way I wanted even if I was rich enough to buy it then change it

Re: I would have taken the Money

I don't know if you can see it in these photos, does it look like the paint is jacked up or is it just a result of resizing and selecting the incorrect quality of the image (low instead of high)

Re: I would have taken the Money

I think it's a stunning truck. Of course it couldn't be exactly what everyone would want but it's a heck of a truck. I too remember that it was picked totally apart on here when it sold for $50k too so it's not a surprise that it happens again when somebody bids this much. All I know is I wish I thought mine was going to turn out anywhere near that nice.

Best pass with the old dragtruck:
5.32 @ 131.6 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.25 60' Fogger/Plate 2003

Best pass with the street 406 hydraulic roller motor w/ mild plate tuneup
5.93 @ 114 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.29 60' 2003 or 2004

Definitely a beautiful truck.

I'd expect a lot more than a just carb for the fuel system making that kind of an investment though.

Re: I would have taken the Money

The old red truck finds its way back to the forum again.... At least the auction was done right this time and the spelling was correct....

The guy who owns the truck now probably just put it on the bay to see what it would pull... He is a BIG TIME collector and a BIG TIME Barrett Jackson buyer and seller... If he likes it enough to keep it till Barrett Jackson rolls around I can almost gaurentee you will see it roll across the block... I think he took about 20 cars to sell and brought close to 30 cars home from Barrett Jackson last year... Hes smart and buys them right....

I agree its a VERY nice truck but there a few small things that seem like were forgotten about during the build...

Thats a good idea for the under the dash cover with only the heater vent sticking out. Too cool. Might have to rig something up about like it.
