Re: cut springs

I cut one coil on my '80 and got about 3.5" of drop. If you can afford the $100 for a set of drop springs I recommend that rather than cutting. I ran around like that for a few weeks hitting the bumpstops until the DS one gave up the ghost and I ordered spindles and 2" springs...drove much better after doing it right. I also recommend a swaybar if you dont have one...good stuff.

Nice truck BTW. My buddy on the boards that lives around the corner has Coys on his truck, looks awesome.

Re: cut springs

Also, I just ordered 3" drop spindles from suspensionmax but when I went to check out it said they were 2.5". Is it common for them to be 3" spindles but only lower the truck 2.5"?

Re: cut springs

No, a 3" spindle will give you 3" of drop no matter what. Did you order them from a website or an Ebay store and did you get the right ones for your thickness brake rotor?

Re: cut springs

I ordered them from an ebay store and yes I checked for the correct rotor thickness.

Re: cut springs

It sounds like they gave you 2.5" rather than 3" spindles.
