What shocks are y'all runnin

I'm about to get Ol' Yeller running and I'm gonna need to replace the shocks. I was wondering what shocks will give our trucks a good ride. BTW, I have a 4" lift that I'm gonna be putting on at the same time. I was thinking of the Procomp 9000 series or some Bilsteins. I know that they are at opposite ends of the spectrum, but I didn't really want to spend that much $ if they dont make that much of a diff. Let me know if I shld go nitro or hydro or heavy duty. Thanks guys. Later, Mario

Bilstein 5125's. Based on the 2 times I've driven the truck with them on, real happy with how they feel. About $85 a piece.

Re: What shocks are y'all runnin

My next offroad shock will prbly be BBC

I have been running Rancho 9000 for ahhh 12yrs now...damn ya and they are still there hahaha. I have busted the little adjuster knob wheeling but they are replaceable.
I run Bilstiens on my 05 Silvarado. Next go around for the Silvarado I might spend a little more and get the top shelf Bilstiens...there are ALOT of choices out there...

Re: What shocks are y'all runnin

I originally ran Tuff Country shocks on my 69 K20 when I did the first 4" lift. I think they had a base model and an upgaded and I had the upgraded model. Not an impressive shock, but not a bad shock either.

I currently have Rancho RSX9000's on my 69 and I do like the adjustability - you could feel a difference. However, once I got them where I liked the ride, I've not had any reason to adjust them again.

Did I see a huge difference between the Tuff Country shocks and the RSX9000's? Really hard to say as I now have taller lift springs and now a swapped in BBC so I can't do an apples to apples comparison.

I'd buy as good of a shock as I could comfortably afford but these trucks are big, heavy and a bit bouncy when lifted so don't expect a huge difference.
