Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

I would not buy something that $$$ from someone on EBAY that has never sold anything and has no feedback.....Also he is Not from the U.S.

The only other thing I see....is he didnt give alot of info for selling a Vehicle on ebay. How can you spend that much money over the internet without more info. (dont get me wrong..I bought my beast on ebay last july)

Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

its a very nice lookin truck. Can't really pick it apart, no false claims.
I agree with the above, little tiny photos and no real description. It may well be all that... but you can't tell in that auction.

Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

Blain: looks like van rallys on her(i think),nice int, nice eng bay paint and trim. a quick black spray can job on the underside(paint over spray on the tail pipes and no paint on the brake backer plates that in my eyes looks poor fix when the rest of the truck looks as good as shown). i would ask for pics of the drip rail and cab mount/corners under the carpet The rust prone areas. looks like a good find though. good luck with this one. Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

Looks like a super clean truck, the last one that my buddy sold on Ebay went up North and before it went that way a local private party inspector checked it out after the auction to make sure that it was as it was advertized.

Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

I think it looks pretty decent. Dont know how much more than $7500 id pay though. I would like to see a pic of the inside of the box. I bet they are covering dents. Pretty nice original truck. If I was really going to pick at it, the plug wires are just laying all over instead of being routed down & behind. No air conditioning or tilt. Washer fluid hose just laid across the engine compartment. Quite a bit of spray can black underneath & under hood. Very cute truck though! Definitely hard to find.

Sounds like the guy wants to deal and is willing to give answers to whatever questions are asked.Nothing suspicious that I see.

Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

I think it is a pretty nice truck. I think it is probably worth more than 7500, but I don't think it is quite 12,500. You might ask if it was originally a sierra grande since it has the headliner and panels, or if they were added later. Maybe get a pic of the Glovebox Label, and verify the numbers match the cab and possibly frame. I agree about getting picks of the drip rail, behind the windshield gasket (up top by the visors) on the inside, rocker and cab corners. He seems pretty honest, he did tell you about the body filler in the rear tubs. And I would definitely have him lift that bed mat to see underneath To be really honest I would probably either go check it out myself, or have someone I trust check it out for me. Your not talking chump change here. If it was all in good solid shape, I might negotiate for 11000-11500 plus three year warranty on engine and tranny. JMHO.

Nice truck. I cant pick on it. It seems the guy is straight up about it. 7500.00 seems right...not much more. 12,500.00 is a little high. It maybe his way of having room to deal.

Re: eBay truck to be picked at!

While the aucton is a rookie effort, the pics are pretty clear...the truck is nice....on Ebay. What you can't tell by ebay photos can only be seen in person or by a very detailed website linked from the auction. I have never bought any vehicle on the web although my 70 was found on ebay. It was in a town a few miles north of me....I made him an offer he couldn't refuse and he pulled the auction.

Having sold 17 classic cars and trucks on ebay, I can tell you that it is not easy shipping a vehicle off to the new owner. You never know their expectations. I prefer a local pickup so that they can see it in person before paying for it. Even though my last auction had 104 pics and a very thorough description, I was still nervous shipping it off.

Not sure if I'd even try it again in this economy...especially since you can't give negative or neutral feedback as a seller....the deck is stacked against us now.
