Vent window paint question.
Has anyone repainted their vent window frames(black type) or know of a thread showing prep and what type of paint to use? The insides are still shiny, but the outside needs some help. I searched FAQ, but could not find an old thread. Thanks.
Chuck

Re: Vent window paint question.
I just took them out sanded (roughed them up and took off loose paint/rust) and rattle-canned the heck out of them...they look great. Don't know how long they'll look great but for now it'll work. I used some paint my nephew bought for his racecar that is supposed to inhibit rust...we'll see

Re: Vent window paint question.
I blasted mine, primed & painted with SW acrylic black with a flattening agent to tone down the gloss. They look great.

Re: Vent window paint question.
I'm doing mine this week, I'm planning on using rustolum gloss black and then hit them with a little clear, rattle can stuff. I painted my ac brackets this way and they look great.

Re: Vent window paint question.
With plenty of newspaper & masking tape I do them right in the truck. I like Ace hardware premium aerosols in the semi gloss black. It has some shine but not real glossy.

Re: Vent window paint question.
Mine were out anyway since I was replacing the regulators, but I could see taping/newspapering and painting them while still in the door.

On a side note, has anyone ever seen a NOS set of the black style?
